Bango is a project initiated by artist José Ramón Bas in Brazaville (Republic of Congo) and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo) with the support of the Almayuda Foundation and the collaboration of the Salisa Foundation. In various centers in the two cities, children spontaneously wrote their wishes on a slate. The word “Bango” comes from Lingula, one of the official languages of the two Congos, and means “Them”. The title honors the real protagonists of this work: the children. Part of the sales of this book will go to street children and orphans supported by the Almayuda Foundation in Brazaville and Kinshasa.
