In his 88-year-old office, covered in books that span our centuries, philosophical and poetic millennia, Michel Deguy never stops ranting and ‘throwing firecrackers’. He calls out, cries out, points the way, sounds the ecological alarm, poetises an alert thought, tirelessly turns a pensive language, sentinel of words in their use, of words and ‘things’.

Despite its formal modesty, the film has a major ambition: to plunge into the heart of poetic writing as he practises it, into the very heart of his ‘ecopoeticological’ thinking, based on a direct conversation with the poet.
