Michael Lonsdale, the all-round actor of the last sixty years in theatre and film, tells his story through his encounters, his characters and his friendships, from A for Atchoum to Z for Zoo Story, including of course C for César, which he was awarded in 2011. As he took the stage to receive his award, he looked at the statuette with a smile and said an inimitable: ‘Ah, there you are, you little rascal...’. He continued: ‘In this business, you think you're one person, but you end up being several. If I wanted to be an actor, it was because I couldn't stand being Michael Lonsdale and I had to be someone else. In that respect, I've succeeded... As for knowing who you really are, I'll just say that when I was invited by the Archbishop of Strasbourg to talk about Des Hommes et des Dieux, I found myself in the superb cathedral in front of 1,200 people... And the archbishop, finishing his little introductory speech, said: ‘Now I'm going to give the floor to Michael Jackson...’. Nothing could have given me greater pleasure.
