Rochelle Fack proposes the hypothesis that the filmmaker constructed a representation of male melancholy, gave it a singular body and movement, foreshadowing, as a wary visionary, the debates on gender. This is undoubtedly where Ferreri was ostracised, his lazy classification as a kitsch filmmaker. There, rather than between a pair of large breasts, in front of a star playing the bitch, a penis sliced off with an electric knife or a tango tune covered by the sound of farts.
