This series explores the relationship between children and water in modern urban spaces known as ‘water mirrors’. I wanted to reproduce the prodigious vitality, the fundamentally sacred spectacle that children spontaneously offer as soon as they are stimulated by the presence of water - a spectacle that varies according to the way the water presents itself: calm, moving, in a gaseous state, etc. By alternating close-ups and general views, I tried to give this study a musical rhythm accompanying the movements in a tangle of light and shadow, silence and noise, slowness and speed, lightness and density. I positioned myself far enough away to represent it in its entirety and close enough to perceive its vibrations and convey them in a language that is direct, essential and yet susceptible to sudden change.
